The Hierarchy of Degree Usefulness

I was thinking today about what ranks the most useful degree to graduate with, and what should rank the lowest. The rankings are based partly on difficulty of said degree, but mostly on the usefulness of the qualification towards getting a job or benefitting society.

In order, from most to least useful:

Medicine
Law
Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical)
Physics
Chemistry
Education
Foreign Languages
Computer Science
Biology
English
Mathematics
Marine Biology
Geology
Politics
History
Geography
Women’s Studies
Sociology
Sports Science
Psychology
Drama
Music
Art

Now there will no doubt be people with art degrees who will disagree with me, but those people should ask themselves just how useful their degree really was in obtaining their current employment with McDonalds.
